Our Team: Kenneth P. Lane
For the past fifteen years, Ken Lane has been assisting organizations build, execute and achieve their Strategic Direct Marketing plans. His Direct Marketing career developed at Staples, The Office Superstore in the early nineties and transitioned from BTB to BTC with senior level stints at Jackson & Perkins/Harry and David, White Flower Farm and FAR&WIDE Travel Corporation. Utilizing a "concentric circles" approach to business development at each stage, Ken has applied Strategic Database Marketing and Analytical skills to drive new product introductions, their marketing plans, pricing, and inventory/yield management. Mr. Lane's expertise in Travel Marketing has supported some of the largest Tour Operators in the United States. For Grand European Tours, he has been responsible for Direct Marketing Strategy and Circulation plan for this $40 million Escorted Tours operator. For Swain Tours, he has built a Brochure Fulfillment system supporting Consumers and the Travel Agent communities. The challenges encountered with the Central Holidays database required a "develop from scratch" approach, in order to allow the company to achieve improved profitability the right way, not the fastest way. This focus on quality has longer term positive impacts for company's competing in Travel, as well as Horticulture, Jewelry, BTB and other sectors. The first recipient of Staples "In Search of Excellence" award, a former Board Member of the Mailorder Gardening Association and a featured speaker at Direct Marketing conferences, he's established a proven track record in Database Segmentation/Analysis, Internet Marketing, Sales/Inventory Forecasting, Catalogue Print/Production, Product Development, Operations/Call Center Management and Pricing/Gross Margin Planning. A graduate of Boston University, he is also a lifelong Red Sox fan, something now proud to acknowledge to after eighty-six years of futility. |
