SmarterCMS.com, Inc. (SmarterCMS), a leading developer of online content management systems, announces that it has begun officially servicing tour and group operators with its new version of SmarterCMS.

SmarterCMS provides an easy-to-use, online content management system that allows even novice users to effectively manage and publish content to their own websites instantly. The browser based publishing tools, are first set up by SmarterCMS staff, called the ‘implementation phase.” In this first phase, the SmarterCMS staff hooks up SmarterCMS to a company’s website. Within days, a company is able to start loading their own press releases, tours, FAQ’s and special offers and with a few simple clicks, publish this information to their website. “This software is so easy to use that at one time, I was managing the content for four company websites and three private label sites with one and half staff members” says John T. Peters, CTC, Senior Partner and Chief Marketing Officer for SmarterCMS. “Brad and I have been developing software together for my own tourism companies since 1997. Now that I’ve sold my tour operating companies, we decided it was time to share this software with the rest of the industry” said Peters.

Another component of SmarterCMS is the Email Blaster. This optional component provides a section on the client’s website to collect email addresses (either for a newsletter or special offer sign ups). The Email Blaster then allows for HTML e-mail design using a simple WYSIWYG (‘What You See Is What You Get’) browser-based tool. Type in and format whatever text you want, , select the tours or properties that you want to feature, select the appropriate customer list and hit ‘Send’ – it’s that simple” said Bradley Mohr, Senior Partner and Chief Technology Officer for SmarterCMS.

SMARTERCMS SAVES TIME & MONEY

SmarterCMS puts the power of web publishing in the hands of the customer. SmarterCMS reduces IT costs since the client no longer needs to rely on a webmaster (or wait for them either) to update their website. In literally minutes, the user is able to make changes to their own website and the pages are published using professionally built templates according to the client’s site design.

For those clients who have a full time webmaster on staff, SmarterCMS reduces ‘time to market’ by eliminating the publishing bottleneck at the webmaster level. “If you’ve got a full time webmaster on staff, we’re not suggesting you get rid of them, but their time would be better spent on developing new web strategies than performing repetitive page building – that should be saved for the non-technical staff” said Peters.

Customization of SmarterCMS is available and allows the system to be integrated with the client’s reservation system. Integration with other systems is expected within a month. “By integrating with reservations systems, the client can then use SmarterCMS to build dynamic web pages that show live inventory rates and dates.

TRACKING

SmarterCMS also tracks, in real-time, all digital promotions. “If you send an email, you can open a reporting page that shows how many people opened it, and when” said Peters. “And if you use the system to build an email, but send it to an outside company to send it out to their list (like E-Marketing or MailPould) the tracking still works.”

SAFE AND SECURE

SmarterCMS administrator and user control is simple with each user having unique access according to the rights assigned to them. “A person can only see and use the components of SmarterCMS that they are authorized to see and use” say Mohr. Each user is assigned rights to the various sections of SmarterCMS. A client can have some staff allowed to publish FAQ’s and Press Releases, while others can also use the Email Blaster and others still can see all of this in addition to being able to view Email campaign reports.

The standard version of SmarterCMS is priced beginning at $250 per month for up to 20 SmarterCMS users and unlimited web customers. Integrating with other back-end systems, like reservations system, or inventory sytems to show live inventory requires an installation fee that varies according to complexity.
